LOCATION
The greater Englewood area is on the southwest coast of Florida directly on the Gulf of Mexico and Lemon Bay; it has the distinction of lying partly in Sarasota County and Charlotte County. It is approximately halfway between Tampa and Ft. Meyers. The population is 50,000 and the community of Englewood is unincorporated
MANASOTA KEY
Manasota Key is located on a barrier island that lies off the coast of Englewood between Lemon Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The island is approximately fifteen miles long beginning at the Venice jetties and ending at Stump Pass. It is possible to walk the entire length of the key along the beach but not by automobile.
Manasota Key is accessible to the main land by two bridges. It covers about seven miles from the north to the Charlotte County line. This section of the key is located in a conservation district, which was designated by the Florida legislature in 1974. This act limits the use of land to single family residential only and is zoned RSF 2 (one home per acre).
